On Saturday 14th June, OLSH were one of four schools invited by the NRL and Sydney Roosters to play an exhibition touch football game at half time of the Roosters versus Knights game at Allianz Stadium. The girls, although very nervous to play in front of the large crowd, played some great touch and defeated Monte 4 – 0. In the other game Kambala defeated Ascham 3 – 0.

CGSSSA Gymnastics was held on Wednesday 4th June at the Five Dock Leisure Centre. The team consisted of 15 students. The girls were fantastic and a pleasure to be with on the day. Following are some notable performances from the day
Taylor Robertson Year 8 – Level 9 1st on Beam, Bars and Floor
Alexandra Venianakis Year 8 – Level 7 3rd on Beam, 5th Beam
Cameron Fisher Year 8 – Level 5 4th Bars
Jayde Garratt Year 7 – Level 4 4th Floor
Emma Oldham Year 10 – Level 3 5th Beam
Kelly Oldham Year 9 – Level 2 5th Floor

On Monday 2nd June, the following students representing CGSSSA travelled to Wagga Wagga to compete at the Catholic Combined Colleges Touch trials. The competition began on Tuesday 3rd and the conditions were cold and wet. The girls played some great touch football. Both teams were beaten in the semi finals. Thank you to Miss Belinda Malakovski for organising a great tour. Thank you also to ex-students Justine Wachman and Jordan Parsonage who coached the Senior team.
Juniors – Zali Dymock Year 7, Taliah Lummow Year 7, Dakota Donoghue Year 9, Gemma Squadrito Year 9, Kristy Wachman Year 9, Kobe Dymock Year 9 and Mia Wood Year 10.
Seniors – Maddison Scannell Year 12 and Emma Kovacevic Year 12.
Special Congratulations to Mia Wood Year 10, who was selected in the Under 15’s CCC team. She will trial for the All Schools Team in July.

On Tuesday 27th May, Year 10 Drama students performed their Children’s Theatre production ‘Snow White and the Scallywags‘.

On Thursday 22nd May, the OLSH Cross Country team travelled to Homebush for the CGSSSA Cross Country event. A successful day was had by all with great participation by all students! Notable achievements follow.
17 yrs: 4th place – Erica Leal Year 12
16 yrs: 6th place – Jessica El-Chah Year 10
15 yrs: 5th place – Mia Wood Year 10
14 yrs: 2nd place – Grace Greenhalgh Year 8
13 yrs: 5th place – Jasmine Fletcher Year 8.
All these students have qualified to compete at the CCC carnival later in the term.
